Located just outside historic Nevada City, about an hour and a half drive from both Sacramento and Reno, Songcatcher Dachshunds is nestled in the majestic foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in Northern California. Since 1988, we have been dedicated to raising high-quality dachshunds on our 4th generation family ranch. Our nursery is specifically designed to meet all the needs of our moms and their puppies, ensuring a loving and healthy start for every litter.
At Songcatcher Dachshunds, we provide a nurturing environment for our Mini and Tweeny dachshunds on our diverse and vibrant family ranch.
We specialize in breeding Mini (adult weight 10-13 lbs) and Tweeny (adult weight 14-18 lbs) dachshunds, offering a variety of long-haired, smooth-coated, and English cream long-haired puppies in most patterns and colors. Our dedicated breeding practices ensure that each puppy is healthy, well-socialized, and a perfect addition to your family.
Beyond dachshunds, our ranch is home to cattle, laying hens, and foundation quarter horses, creating a lively and enriching atmosphere. This diverse environment fosters a harmonious community among all our animals, contributing to a balanced and dynamic ranch life that benefits both our pets and livestock.

Our dachshunds enjoy a balanced diet of high-quality kibble supplemented with raw food, while our puppies are fed premium kibble to support their growth. They reside in dedicated living quarters within the innermost part of the ranch, featuring a controlled climate and expansive, dog park-like yards where they can run and play freely throughout the day, ensuring their health and happiness.
